Our team looks for data-driven and fact-based mindsets, engaging and collaborative behaviors, and personal growth-focused professionals.</p> <p> In order for the global energy system to make the transition from a carbon-based grid, to a renewable energy grid, large scale energy storage must be introduced into the electricity system to balance intra-hour supply and demand. Energy storage is the enabler of high penetration variable renewable generation like solar and wind.</p> <p> The Counsel, Corporate &amp; Commercial position is a multi-faceted role, responsible for a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. This qualified individual would work under the guidance of the Deputy General Counsel, Corporate, Compliance &amp; EPC, to provide legal counsel and guidance on corporate and commercial matters across the various functional units at Plus Power. In this role, you will be focused on corporate legal matters and serve as a key resource in the negotiation and execution of a wide array of contracts that are integral to the successful development of the company's projects. This role will have opportunities to support and collaborate with teams across Plus Power's functional groups, including Development, EPC, Asset Management, and Transmission &amp; Interconnection.</p> <br> <p></p> <p><b> Responsibilities:</b></p> <ul> <li>Provide support for legal and strategic decision-making on corporate matters to the company's various functional units</li> <li>Draft and negotiate various contracts (including service agreements, consulting contracts, and confidentiality agreements)</li> <li>Support drafting and negotiation of various complex commercial contracts (including interconnection agreements, equipment supply agreements, EPC Agreements, Operations &amp; Maintenance Agreements, etc.)</li> <li>Support regulatory compliance requirements of the company before regulatory bodies (including FERC, NERC, and State PUCs)</li> <li>Coordinate with external counsel on corporate matters, as needed</li> <li>Prepare and present on various corporate legal topics</li> </ul> <br> <p></p> <p><b> Qualifications &amp; Skills:</b></p> <ul> <li>JD. required</li> <li>Active membership and good standing in at least one US state bar</li> <li>3 + years of experience within a top-tier law firm or corporate legal department; previous experience in the energy/renewables sector or large capital construction projects is a plus</li> <li>Extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on complex commercial contract and transactions</li> <li>Ability to work under minimal supervision</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work well in a cross-functional environment with both technical and non-technical team members</li> <li>Strong presentation and writing skills</li> <li>Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Organized with a high attention to detail</li> <li>English fluency is required</li> </ul> <br> <p></p> <p><b> Compensation, Location, and Benefits</b></p> <br> <p></p> <p> Highly competitive total compensation from one of North America's leading energy storage developers, owners and operators. Flexible, work from home or hybrid work from Plus Power's offices in San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Seattle, and Palm Beach.</p> <p> The expected salary range* for this position begins at $175,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law.
