<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-JobComponent-description css-16y4thd eu4oa1w0"><div> <h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Description</b></h3> <div> <br> The Senior Vice President, Legal, Leasing &amp; Operations provides legal guidance and coordinates with other internal departments of the organization related to all leasing and operations activities to ensure compliance with all legal, ethical or regulatory standards. </div> <br> <h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Key Responsibilities</b></h3> <br> <ul> <li> Render advice concerning legal issues in connection with ownership and operation of stabilized mixed-use real estate assets with primary responsibility of drafting and overseeing all office and retail leasing</li> <li>Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to leasing operations and safeguarding of Company interests</li> <li>Develop and implement internal processes, policies, procedures, strategies and initiatives to support the Company’s primary business objectives related to leasing and operations</li> <li>Lead or oversee complex lease negotiations, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating lease agreements and related documents</li> <li>Active in risk management to assess and mitigate legal risks associated with leasing transactions, providing proactive advice and solutions</li> <li>Manage or oversee the resolution of leasing disputes and litigation, collaborating with external counsel when necessary and maintaining proper documentation</li> <li>Collaborate with Human Resources Department to ensure the implementation of consistent disciplinary action strategies in cases of compliance standard violations</li> <li>Advise internal management or business partners on the implementation or operation of compliance programs</li> <li>Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate or required</li> <li>Provide assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews</li> <li>Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress</li> <li>Design or implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards</li> <li>Verify that all regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated</li> <li>Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, or best practices.</li> <li>Support operations on rezoning and development of mixed-use assets to include the drafting and negotiation of professional service agreements and commercial construction agreements, REAs, easements, ground leases and project specific agreements with third parties and/or the oversight of outside counsel with respect to the same</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <div></div> <h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br> Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</b></h3> <br> <ul> <li> JD Degree</li> <li>5-12+ years of experience in real estate transactional work</li> <li>Project finance experience a plus but not necessary</li> <li>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office/Suite, and any other software program identified as standard</li> <li>Ability to effectively select and supervise outside counsel</li> <li>Must be highly credible and trustworthy, and operate with high degree of integrity</li> <li>Must hold oneself and others accountable and strive for a high level of excellence</li> <li>Must have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to fuel growth and innovation</li> <li>Must be customer-focused and results-oriented</li> <li>Must want to continuously learn and develop</li> <li>Exceptional oral and written communication, active listening, and organizational skills</li> <li>Ability to establish strong working relationships with others in team setting</li> <li>Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>Self-directed and able to work independently, with minimal supervision</li> </ul> <br> <h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Benefits</b></h3> <div> <br> <b> Compensation:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Competitive Salary with Bonus Potential</li> <li>Generous Benefit Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K Match, Life Insurance</li> </ul> <br> <b> Career Development</b> <br> <ul> <li>Opportunities for Advancement within our expanding portfolio</li> <li>Annual Professional Development Funds to fuel your growth</li> </ul> <br> <b> Employee Perks (to name a few):</b> <br> <ul> <li>Housing Discount</li> <li>Commuter Benefits</li> <li>Free Parking and EV charging</li> <li>Parental Leave Program</li> <li>Enjoy a Friendly Work Environment that values collaboration</li> </ul> <br> Explore more perks and possibilities here for growing your career with Comstock Companies!
