Description
Levenfeld Pearlstein is seeking a paralegal to support its Real Estate Practice Group. LP’s real estate group represents clients ranging from mid-sized companies to large national and global companies in the acquisition and disposition of commercial, industrial, multi-family, manufactured housing and retail properties. The group has robust commercial leasing, joint venture and development practices. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with acquisitions, dispositions and financing in all practice areas. Responsibilities: · Supports transactions including: o Review contracts/purchase & sale agreements, calculate critical dates (and utilize docket to track same) o Prepare closing checklists, calculate critical dates and maintain both as the transaction progresses o Review title, survey and zoning; prepare objection notices and response letters; experience with clearing title matters and knowledge of ALTA survey standards o Research and facilitate local requirements and tax clearance/bulk sales o Preparation of estoppels and SNDAs o Prepare and review closing documents o Due diligence process including ordering, reviewing and summarizing searches o Lease review and abstracts o Preparation and filing of UCC Financing Statements o Prepare/review closing documents o Prepare for, coordinate and facilitate all aspects of closings with client, title companies and lenders · Oversees preparation of electronic closing binders · Effectively utilizes the firm’s docketing system to track matters · Communicates with clients and third parties throughout the course of a matter Requirements: · Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate · Minimum 5-7 years of relevant real estate transactional and finance experience (will consider less experience for otherwise qualified candidate) · Superior oral and written communication skills · Strong technical skills (Knowledge of Microsoft Office, iManage and ProLaw is a plus) · Excellent attention to detail · Excellent time management skills and ability to adjust to changing project priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment · Ability to delegate appropriate tasks · A demonstrated commitment to providing superior client service · Must be able to work occasional overtime as needed
