Associate, Capital Markets LatAM - Americas

Job Description The New York office of Shearman & Sterling is seeking mid-level Capital Markets associates with 2-4 years of Capital Markets LatAm experience. We represent and advise financial institutions, and sovereign and corporate issuers in capital market transactions primarily in Latin America. Additionally, we advise a number of Latin American issuers on their ongoing SEC reporting requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and corporate governance matters. A broad-based skill set, including exposure to corporate governance and public company representations is a plus. Fluent Spanish speaking and writing skills, strong academic qualifications, excellent written communication and analytical skills are all requirements. This is a great opportunity for an associate to be a part of a small close knit team, working on sophisticated matters within a larger supportive group. Must be admitted to practice in the State of New York. Shearman & Sterling’s compensation is aligned with the standard market-rate salary scale. The good faith, annualized salary range for this position is $225,000 to $435,000 depending on the candidate’s overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law such as, education, training, other responsibilities. The annual salary range listed is just one component of Shearman & Sterling’s total compensation and benefits package which includes a discretionary bonus, paid leave, life, health, accident and disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
