Description
Perform key role in drafting pleadings; preparing and participating in hearings before international courts/tribunals; preparing witness/expert testimony; assisting/formulating strategic planning in cases involving boundary delimitation, law of the seas, cross-border environmental issues, human rights violations, alleged violations of investment protection and free trade agreements, and other Public International Law issues; advising sovereign States on reform and negotiation of investment protection treaties. J.D. or LLM and five years of experience in the job offered or five years of experience in Public International Law advising/representing sovereign States. Experience must include three years advising sovereign States on United Nations law; international dispute settlement, and the negotiation of international agreements concerning transboundary hydrocarbons reservoirs, outer continental-shelf delimitation, biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction, and international taxation; and representing sovereign States before international organizations, including the United Nations. Admission to DC bar. Experience may be gained concurrently. Compensation is $370,000 - $430,000 commensurate with related experience and qualification. The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
