<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText"><b>Position Summary:</b> <br> A key member of Toyota Material Handling’s legal team reporting directly to the Vice President of Legal and General Counsel, this role will focus on leading the enterprise compliance program for Toyota Material Handling and providing employment law support to affiliates throughout the U.S. <br> <br> <b>Responsibilities:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Support the maturation of Toyota Material Handling’s corporate compliance infrastructure including the evolution of policies and training programs.</li> <li>Review and draft compliance-related documents, track compliance initiatives, and oversee ongoing adherence.</li> <li>Assist with drafting of policies, procedures and guidelines addressing compliance-related issues.</li> <li>Manage compliance investigations.</li> <li>Provide legal support to human resource professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada on a broad range of labor and employment issues including hiring, discipline and termination, reductions-in-force, leaves of absences, disability accommodations, FMLA, and wage and hour compliance.</li> </ul> <b>Specific Knowledge and Skills:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Excellent and succinct verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently.</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-pace environment as a team member.</li> <li>Curiosity for laws and regulations.</li> <li>Strive for best-in-class.</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.</li> </ul> <b>Education &amp; Experience:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) with at least five (5) years’ experience in private practice or corporate law department.</li> <li>Proficiency in employment law and compliance programs.</li> <li>Highly preferred to have experience implementing and sustaining compliance programs.</li> </ul> <b>Core Competencies:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Must demonstrate sound judgment and adherence to ethical standards at all times;</li> <li>Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;</li> <li>Solid computer skills and excellent communication skills with an emphasis on clear and precise writing;</li> <li>Initiative and drive, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across a complex organization and with all levels of management; and</li> <li>Project management and organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects with varying deadlines and priorities.</li> </ul> <b>Essential Position Duties:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner</li> <li>Additional duties as assigned</li> </ul> About Toyota Material Handling <br> <br> Let Toyota take your career to new heights.
