This position is involved in matters ranging from review of contracts, negotiation support, standardization of template agreements, and advising on risk and compliance. The Staff Counsel may be assigned other projects, including conducting legal research, drafting legal memoranda, coordinating discovery, and other matters to be completed under the oversight of the General Counsel or Corporate Counsel, as designated by the supervising Corporate Counsel. </div> <h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Principal Responsibilities and essential functions.</b></h1> <ul> <li> Review, interpret and analyze contractual language and negotiate contracts, as needed. </li> <li>Advise internal stakeholders related to contractual obligations and other legal and regulatory requirements to help ensure business is conducted in compliance with applicable requirements.</li> <li> Develop deep understanding of the company’s business and approach to contracts and contribute to the legal department’s continuous improvement efforts related to contract review, negotiation and management.</li> <li> Perform legal research of case law, statutes, regulations, and secondary sources, on questions that arise in connection with the company’s business, and draft memoranda to advise on findings. </li> <li>Support Insurance Manager on review of contract coverage requirements. </li> </ul>: <h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Education and Licensing requirements</b></h1> <ul> <li> Must hold a Juris Doctor degree. </li> </ul> <h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Must have an active bar admission. Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or experience </b></h1> <ul> <li>Minimum two years of legal experience</li> <li> Previous experience with contracts related to engineering, construction, or similar industry is required</li> <li> AEC experience a plus but not required</li> </ul> <h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Additional information</b></h1> <div> Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Generally, office work environment. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
