The Orlando office of BakerHostetler is seeking an associate (3-5 years of experience) to join its Labor and Employment Group, nationally ranked by Chambers USA and “Best Law Firms.” Qualifications of the ideal candidate include: • Experience defending employers in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, and their state law equivalents; • Experience in counseling employers on various employment-related issues, including leave entitlement, wage and hour issues, hiring, terminations, discipline, handbook policies and procedures, employment agreements, and other matters affecting the employment relationship; • Proficiency in handling multiple facets of a litigation, including responding to complaints, drafting and responding to discovery, e-discovery and the production of documents, preparing dispositive and other motions, and drafting position statements; • Experience with wage and hour collective actions and class action litigation; • Experience in taking and defending depositions; • Superior attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, exceptional research and analytical skills, as well as a high level of academic achievement; and • Admitted to practice law in Florida.
