Chartwell Law is looking for an experienced Paralegal for our workers’ compensation practice group based out of our New York, NY office. Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, the ability to work under pressure and a desire to learn. Primary duties include: · Comply with requests from insurance carriers & the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board to obtain medical records · Drafting of discovery devices and requests including Subpoenas and Deposition Notices etc. · Coordination of medical depositions · Correspondence with attorney offices regarding settlement and stipulation negotiations · Preparation and filing of standard forms. Requirements 2 years’ experience in workers’ compensation Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required Knowledge of the requirements of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board Ability to manage a large case load Strong organization skills and ability to self-manage Excellent client skills and telephone manner Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Knowledge of Adobe, Ardent Total Office, Expert Time and Nitro PDF a plus Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000 Department: Workers’ Compensation This is a full time position
