Description
The Knowledge Management Lawyer (“KM Lawyer”) will be an experienced lawyer reporting directly to the Director of Knowledge Management, who will help to develop, implement and maintain the knowledge and innovation strategy for the practice groups within the Firm’s Litigation department (the “Group”). The KM Lawyer will work closely with the Group leadership and the lawyers to collect and leverage our collective knowledge. The KM Lawyer will develop and manage the Department’s collection of forms, precedents and research materials; implement and manage practice technology and innovation projects; organize, design and deliver training; monitor developments in the legal and business environment; work with the Client Development, Innovation and Legal Project Management departments to identify opportunities to develop business from new and existing clients; and perform other duties as required by representatives from the Group, the Litigation Director and Manager and the Director of Knowledge Management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work with the Group and the Director of Knowledge Management to assess the relevant knowledge needs, define and implement a plan to meet those needs, and establish mechanisms for regular review of the plan. The knowledge strategy will identify areas ripe for workflow innovation and create practices that increase efficiency and empower our lawyers to deliver higher value work Work with the Group to collect real-time lawyer/staff feedback to determine which knowledge solutions, once implemented, are actively increasing efficiency and engagement, and which solutions require improvement or reassessment. Participate in innovation working groups that identify workflow challenges and leverage firm wide capabilities to produce tailored business solutions Manage and implement legal technology utilized by the Group, including judicial analytics tools, PacerPro Plus, West km, and trial management products. Evaluate and pilot legal technology, including emerging artificial intelligence applications Develop litigation know-how work product to help lawyers practice more efficiently Identify practice-related training needs and coordinate with the Professional Development team to organize, design and deliver (personally or with others) training, including seminars, workshops and offsite training; Train on how to access knowledge resources including the practice portals on the Intranet, docket and precedent search , judicial analytics, and elsewhere; Provide direct support to individual practitioners to assist them with locating practice-related internal and external knowledge resources Be a source of legal, market and practical expertise J.D and a minimum of two years sound legal experience in the litigation context at a large law firm or relevant in-house legal department Minimum of five years cumulative experience in a professional services firm Prior experience providing knowledge management support would be highly desirable Proskauer requires that all employees be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to access the Firm’s offices. This position will require periodic physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a weekly basis. The anticipated compensation range for this position is $170,000 - $190,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
