Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Patent Agent (Biological Sciences) drafts and prosecutes patent applications and conducts patent validity, non-infringement and freedom-to-operate analyses. In addition to patent prosecution, responsibilities include IP due diligences, patent litigations, post-grant proceedings (IPR, PGR, interferences) and other IP matters in the life sciences related to cutting-edge technologies, such as gene editing, cellular therapies, antibody-based therapeutics, and molecular diagnostics. Required Qualifications: Minimum two (2) years of substantive patent experience; three (3) - five (5) years of experience preferred. Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred, or M.S. with several years industry experience) in the biological sciences (e.g., Biology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Virology). Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Excellent written and oral communication skills, superior academic background and a desire for teamwork, significant responsibility and client interaction.
