Demand on our services has created an opportunity for a Corporate and Commercial Senior Associate to join the Sydney team working with Partner Maija Kerry and her team. This role is best suited for someone with broad corporate and commercial skills as you will be assisting clients with a range of strategic and day to day commercial legal issues. You will be assisting clients with: a variety of commercial transactions including procurement, joint ventures, supply, distribution and marketing arrangements; M&A support and business acquisitions/divestments; competition and consumer law issues including unfair contract terms; commercialisation of intellectual property; corporate governance; the Franchising Code of Conduct and associated franchise sector regulatory issues; and other commercial legal issues that arise day to day in our clients’ businesses. You will work with clients from a broad range of industries, with a focus on clients in the consumer markets/retail and the life sciences and healthcare industries, including some of Australia’s best known brands. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with our clients, as well as other lawyers from across our Australian and global firm. Requirements A minimum of 5 years PQE ideally gained within a busy corporate and/or commercial practice Excellent technical and legal drafting skills Strong verbal communication skills Proven time management & organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously Strong client liaison skills The successful candidate will need to be an energetic, proactive, driven and focused individual with exceptional academic achievements.
