<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText jobsearch-JobComponent-description css-10og78z eu4oa1w0"><div> <p><b>**This role can be located anywhere in the US </b></p> <p>Overview: As an important member of the Product, Intellectual Property and Procurement (PIPP) Team at Juniper, the candidate will be an experienced attorney working with business units to support all aspects of product development and new product introductions through the entire product life cycle, from design for security/compliance/manufacturing, product development, to sales and post-sales support. The product attorney will be deeply embedded with engineering and product management teams, and work closely with the security, privacy, IP, trade compliance and other members of the Legal department to provide integrated support, including coordination of holistic legal review of new products and product features for compliance with data protection, export control, localization, open source, third-party licensing terms and other applicable requirements. The role functions as the focal point of contact within the PIPP department for software as a service (SaaS) and nonSaaS activities, and for issues related to product liability risk management in product development generally. The attorney will have the opportunity to collaborate with R&amp;D, engineering, program managers, finance and legal colleagues to implement product compliances as well as IP policies. In addition, the attorney will coordinate end of life product and service issues. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel, Senior Director. The Product Counsel may be located at Juniper’s headquarters in Sunnyvale, California or remote.<br> </p> <p></p> <p>Key Duties and Responsibilities: </p> <ul> <li>Support product managers and engineers within SaaS, hardware and software teams by providing integrated legal review of new products and new product features, including for compliance with regulatory (e.g., privacy and security) and third-party licensing requirements </li> <li>Deeply embed with product development teams to support all aspects of engineering development throughout the entire product life cycle </li> <li>Act as a primary point of contact within the Products, IP and Procurement legal team for software, hardware and/or SaaS activities </li> <li>Coordinate with the privacy, security, IP, trade compliance and other members of the legal department to translate risk management requirements into the product development process </li>Support product end of life and end of service issues. </ul> <p></p> <p>Required Experience and Qualifications: </p> <ul> <li>JD degree or equivalent. Admission to the State of California Bar or other states </li> <li>A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a product attorney; relevant in-house experience with a SaaS company is preferred </li> <li>Experienced in embedding inside R&amp;D teams and providing early risk management guidance and advice </li>Familiar with product-related regulatory compliance requirements such as export control, intellectual property, privacy, standards, and customized go-to-market terms </ul> <p></p> <p>Essential Attributes: </p> <ul> <li>Capacity to think analytically and strategically to identify issues early on at the first line of defense and to develop long-term solutions </li> <li>Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to take the legal lead on a project, juggle and prioritize multiple tasks </li> <li>Ability to facilitate mutual understanding between the business side and the legal department </li> <li>Technically inclined and technology savvy with some level of technical background, including experience with software products for engineering applications and exposure to end of life or end of service issues. Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and attention to detail/accuracy </li> <li>Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization; exceptional consultative skills </li> <li>Ability to thrive in a high-functioning, fast-paced environment </li> <li>Trustworthy, integrity, collegial, cooperative, authentic, transparent </li> <li>Knowledge about interactions with regulatory and standard setting bodies </li> <li>Knowledge about privacy law and related issues associated with SaaS solutions </li> <li>Have a technical degree in science or engineering </li> <li>Experience in supporting product requirements for federal government agencies (such as ADA, VPAT) </li> <li>Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements for cloud applications or SaaS </li> </ul> <p>Minimum Salary: $150,000.00 </p> <p>Maximum Salary:$230,000.00 </p> <p>The pay range for this position is expected to be between $150,000.00 and $230,000.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. </p> <p>If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. </p> <p>Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.</p> </div></div>
