If you’re as passionate about your future as we are, join our team.</p> <p> KPMG's Office of General Counsel (OGC) is currently seeking an Associate General Counsel to provide legal support to join our Litigation group, specifically on the Practice Protection Team.</p> <p> Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> Provide counsel on actual and threatened civil litigation where the Firm is a party, the subject of third-party subpoenas and other legal process where the Firm is not a party to the proceeding, and regulatory or other government investigations or inquiries</li> <li> Represent KPMG and its professionals in civil litigation proceedings and regulatory investigations and provide legal advice to the Firm and its leaders related to issues arising in those proceedings</li> <li> Develop, implement, and manage strategies and tactics to defend litigation claims and regulatory investigations and bring them to a successful and cost-effective resolution</li> <li> Supervise and work collaboratively with outside counsel, and other members of OGC, to deliver the highest quality legal representation to the Firm and its leaders</li> <li> Report to and consult with the Vice Chair for Legal, Regulatory &amp; Compliance/General Counsel and the Deputy General Counsel for Litigation on issues arising in litigation and regulatory matters</li> <li> Assist in developing financial projections for supervised matters</li> </ul> <p> Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> Minimum eighteen years of recent experience in well-regarded law firm(s) or in-house legal department; experience defending complex civil litigations and regulatory investigations involving accounting firms, similar professional organizations or financial institutions a plus</li> <li> JD or LLM from an accredited law school, and licensed to practice law in the U.S., including in the state in which his/her office is located</li> <li> Experience serving within the Division of Enforcement of either the SEC or PCAOB or a similar regulatory or law enforcement agency directing investigations focusing on accounting or other professional liability issues a plus, but not required</li> <li> Ability to manage multiple litigations, investigations and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality deliverables and results; strategic thinking in sensitive and complex situations, and the highest ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility and character</li> <li> Excellent analytical, writing, interpersonal, communication, client counseling and oral advocacy skills; demonstrated collaboration skills, including building strong business partnerships, and working within cross-functional teams; client-service orientation with the capability to create effective working relationships cross-functionally, including interfacing with internal and external stakeholders on legal and business matters</li> <li> Able to demonstrate a commitment to driving diversity, equity and inclusion at the group, enterprise, industry, or community level</li> </ul> <br> <br> KPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
