<b>Come join our family at In-N-Out Burger!</b> <br> We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Corporate Counsel/Associate General Counsel, Intellectual Property attorney with our Legal Department, based in our Irvine, CA* office. This position will be responsible for handling and managing our intellectual property (IP) litigation matters and portfolio, while also contributing to our contract management and other legal operations initiatives. <ul> <li><br> <b>This position is full-time, in-office only.</b></li> </ul> <b><br> General Responsibilities</b> <ul> <li> Lead and manage all aspects of intellectual property litigation, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets</li> <li> Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to develop and execute litigation strategies</li> <li> Conduct legal research, draft cease and desist letters, pleadings, motions, and briefs, and provide strategic advice on IP disputes</li> <li> Assist in managing the Company’s intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets</li> <li> Conduct IP audits, due diligence reviews, and assessments of third-party intellectual property</li> <li> Develop and implement strategies for IP protection, enforcement, and monetization</li> <li> Utilize project management skills and experience with legal operations to contribute to the development and optimization of legal processes and procedures</li> <li> Assist in implementing technology solutions and tools to streamline legal workflows and improve efficiency</li> <li> Support cross-functional initiatives, such as contract management, compliance, and risk management</li> <li> Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues (including laws, regulations, judicial decisions, and legal articles); and provide clear recommendations to internal Associates</li> </ul> <b><br> Work Schedule + Benefits</b> <ul> <li> Full-time position, Exempt</li> <li> Pay Range is $195,000-$250,000<br> The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.</li> <li> Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm</li> <li> Department needs may call for occasional overtime, including weekends at times</li> <li> Travel: This role involves occasional local and overnight travel (10-15%)</li> <li> Excellent Benefits, to include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, FSA’s, 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan, Adoption Assistance, Education Reimbursement, Supplemental Health Plans and Pet Insurance</li> </ul> <b><br> Qualifications</b> <ul> <li> A minimum of 4 years' experience at a law firm or as an in-house counsel; required</li> <li> Current license to practice law and ability to remain in good standing with the California State Bar Association; required</li> <li> Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA-accredited law school; required</li> <li> Experience and working knowledge in the following fields of practice: intellectual property and brand protection; trademark prosecution; civil litigation; contracts; privacy; licensing and other transactions</li> <li> Experience managing intellectual property portfolios and conducting IP audits; and due diligence</li> <li> Knowledge of legal operations principles and experience implementing process improvements</li> <li> Overall broad legal knowledge of corporate laws, litigation, and intellectual property law; and proven general counseling experience in a business environment</li> <li> Ability to draft, review, revise, and negotiate contracts in multiple areas of the business, including accounting, marketing, and information technology. </li> <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion and good judgment</li> <li> Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking/presentation skills</li> <li> Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail</li> <li> Excellent time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li> <li> Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li> <li> Ability to work autonomously and independently, yet be an integral part of an overall team environment</li> <li> Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook</li> <li> Experience with Contract Management Software (i.e. DocuSign, Smartwaiver, etc.)</li> <li> Valid California Driver's License required</li> </ul> <b><br> ABOUT In-N-Out Burger</b> <br> In-N-Out Burger was founded in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park, California, and remains privately owned and operated.
