Level of counseling provided requires broader understanding of the impact decisions may have on the overall business, as the risks associated with incomplete advice are high. Duties include drafting of legal documents and provision of legal counsel. Should have acquired knowledge of law in at least two specialized areas (e.g., patents, FDA Regulatory, commercial, litigation, etc.) critical to maintaining business operations and be very knowledgeable about the products, competitors and regulatory environment of the company´s businesses. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim´s high regard for our employees. </div> </div> <div> <div> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Duties &amp; Responsibilities </b></h2> </div> <div> <ul> <li>Provides expertise and guidance on state and federal laws, regulations and policies and interpret s and applies such laws, regulations and policies to complex business situations. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Advises and counsels management on issues relating to federally regulated products and transactions. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Drafts and negotiates complex agreements; including partnering with clients to develop negotiation strategies that achieve solutions consistent with business objectives. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Identifies and communicates to business partners risks and opportunities associated with complex business activities; provides training and business advice on applicable legal issues. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Collaborates across functions by looking beyond immediate business issues and identifying broader business purposes; proactively applying legal framework to both the specific business activity and the broader business purposes; and developing alternative legal solutions to enable the achievement of successful outcomes. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Keeps current with evolving legal and business issues; confers with other in-house counsel and manages outside counsel where appropriate. </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Manages (either directly or indirectly) administrative assistants and other personnel within department. Mentors and/or trains more junior attorneys, paralegals, administrative assistants and/or other personnel within department.
