Negotiable; commensurate with education and/or experience, if approved. </div> </div> <div> <b>Examples of Work</b> </div> <div> <p>In this role, you will advise and conduct legal research about issues of contract law, government procurement, federal grant administration, and related areas of law;</p> <ul> <li><br> Consult with DHHS staff regarding the obligations and terms of agency agreements;</li> <li> Negotiate terms with contractors/grantees</li> <li> Provide legal advice to the Contract Administrator and his staff regarding on-going issues of contract administration</li> <li> Review and draft revisions of DHHS agreement templates and processes</li> <li> Provide other general legal support for a variety of other activities, such as requests for proposals, procurement-related public records requests, or litigation.</li> </ul> </div> <p></p> <div> <b>Qualifications / Requirements</b> </div> <div> <p>REQUIREMENTS:<br> Three years of experience as an attorney practicing law and providing legal services such as preparing and trying cases, advising clients, and/or interpreting laws or administrative policies.<br> <br> In accordance with Section 7-101, Nebraska Revised, Reissued Statutes of l943, incumbents in this class must be admitted to the Nebraska Bar.<br> <br> PREFERRED: Experience with contract law; federal, block, or state grants; public contracting; software licensing agreements; Medicaid programs; and/or public health.</p> </div> <div> <b>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</b> </div> <div> <p>Ability to: interpret and apply statutes, case law, decisions of court/administrative hearings, and administrative rules and policies on a variety of legal issues; effectively communicate and interact with legal associates, other government employees, and the public;<br> <br> Conduct legal research; formulate legal opinions and recommendations based on legal research; identify critical elements of legal questions or issues; and use a computer for word processing and research.</p> </div> </div> </div> <p></p> <br> <p></p> <div> <div> <div> <div> We offer a comprehensive package of pay, benefits, paid time off, retirement and professional development opportunities to help you get the most out of your career and life.
