We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment. that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.</p> <p></p> <p><b> Job Summary</b></p> <p> People manager who leads a low to moderate revenue and customer volume region of our business.</p> <p><b><br> Responsibilities</b></p> <p> People Management</p> <ul> <li><p> Accountable for the overall quality of the regional Commercial Transaction team’s work product, including reviewing their work, discussing job performance problems with employees, and providing action-oriented feedback</p></li> <li><p> Mentors and trains to improve performance, correct deficiencies, and ensure that work aligns with the current regional and global risk profile of the company</p></li> <li><p> Obtains and/or clarifies information from employees relevant to work procedures and standards</p></li> <li><p> Evaluates employee performance against established guidelines, objectives and performance standards</p></li> <li><p> Provides employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving complaints or disputes</p></li> <li><p> Partners with and guides managers on various people management tasks</p></li> <li><p> Advises on appropriate workflow and distribution of work assignments</p></li> <li><p> Ensures that employees adhere to proper procedures and quality standards (including SLAs), meet deadlines and correct errors or problems</p></li> <li><p> Acts as final point of escalation for external customer questions and/or complaints about services, policies and procedures</p></li> <li><p> Interviews job candidates to determine qualifications and suitability for employment in specific positions</p></li> <li><p> Develops succession plans to identify resource gaps and to support career development</p></li> <li><p> Manages performance and employee relations issues, consulting with HR as necessary</p></li> <li><p> May intervene to resolve disagreements or interpersonal difficulties among employees</p></li> <li><p> Has career development discussions with individuals</p></li> <li><p> Ensures the completion and effectiveness of the annual performance review process including performance discussions, compensation discussions and diligent management and equitable distribution of the assigned budget</p></li> <li><p> Provides guidance, coaching and mentoring to the team to support their professional knowledge development in contracts-related areas such as resolving customer litigation, managing bankruptcy processes, customer terminations, etc.</p></li> <li><p> Supports individual and team contributions to Global Commercial Transactions or Legal Team initiatives</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p> Contract Management</p> <ul> <li><p> Negotiation, drafting, execution and ongoing management of sales related contracts and other customer agreements</p></li> <li><p> To maintain current knowledge of the contract negotiation processes, or as needed, completes the Negotiation Tasks assigned to the Contracts Managers</p></li> <li><p> Develops and maintains effective relationships with commercial contract partners within the region and globally to understand business and stakeholder needs</p></li> <li><p> Participates in deals regionally and globally; reviews as the need arises</p></li> <li><p> Leads or supports commercial contracts related training for noncommercial contracts teams</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p> Global Commercial Transactions Team Support</p> <ul> <li><p> Leads or participates in the design and implementation of continuous improvements to the standard contract documents, exhibits, policies, and related customer specific documents and the accepted modification documents (e.g., the Pre- approved Modifications [“PAMs”])</p></li> <li><p> Serves as a liaison with the commercial contracts teams in other regions</p></li> <li><p> Collaborates with global peers, partners and leadership to define the company’s risk profile</p></li> <li><p> Acts as an escalation point and global approver for legal issues involving Customer Contracts, consulting as necessary and providing opinions and proposing resolutions, as appropriate</p></li> <li><p> Participates in and/or leads global initiatives</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p> Business, Systems &amp; Processes</p> <ul> <li><p> Defines key performance indicators to measure continual improvement of the team in the areas of contract templates, terms and procedures which ensure the quick and efficient closure of sales and other revenue generating transactions</p></li> <li><p> Defines what to measure, how to measure (define success and/or failure) and how frequently to report out</p></li> <li><p> Questions scalability of the current modus operandi, identifies process improvement opportunities and makes recommendations to leadership for future state operations in the short, medium and long term</p></li> <li><p> Collaborates with regional and global counterparts to deploy tools (including systems), provide people resources to support the new global systems and processes, and be an ambassador and trainer for new initiatives</p></li> <li><p> Creates and builds new regional and global processes to support and expand the company’s strategic direction and business model for contracting</p></li> <li><p> Ensures knowledge and understanding of regional team’s day-to-day function is current by regularly negotiating and reviewing Equinix customer contracts</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p> Compliance Tasks</p> <ul> <li><p> Accountable for the maintenance of and compliance with applicable government contracting requirements and any other legal requirements</p></li> <li><p> Responsible for the regional team’s implementation of any compliance policies or practices, as the need arises, or advised by the business or the global or regional legal teams</p></li> <li><p> Other duties and projects as assigned by management</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Qualifications</b></h2> <ul> <li><p> 5-8 years related experience preferred</p></li> <li><p> JD or equivalent required</p></li> <li><p> Current member of a Bar association, or legal association applicable to jurisdiction of hire required</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p> Equinix is an Equal Employment Opportunity and, in the U.S., an Affirmative Action employer.
