Job Description: Sands Anderson is seeking to hire an experienced Community Association Attorney in any of our Virginia offices (Fredericksburg, Christiansburg, Richmond, Williamsburg and Virginia Beach). The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in community association law. This attorney should have extensive experience interpreting governing documents, providing guidance on association governance, preparing amendments to governing documents, and addressing fair housing issues. The attorney should be active in the community associations industry, participating in organizations such as the Community Associations Institute (CAI), teaching at chapter events, and contributing articles to relevant publications. As a Community Associations Attorney, you will: Represent developers, lenders, landlords, and community associations. Handle commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition, purchase, financing, and leasing. Assist with community association formation, registration, governance, and compliance for residential, commercial, and mixed-use condominiums. Review, analyze, negotiate, and draft agreements, deeds, loan documents, leases, declarations, and covenants. Manage others to ensure timely closings and meet milestones. Demonstrate attention to detail and perseverance. Job Requirements: Three (3) years of experience practicing Community Assocation Law in Virginia. Active license to practice law in Virginia J.D. from an accredited law school Adept at conducting specialized training for boards of directors, committees, and managers. Strong knowledge of community association law, real estate, and related areas. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
