Foley & Lardner is seeking an associate with 2-4 years of litigation experience to join the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group in our Tampa office. Ideal candidate will have experience with government investigations, complex business litigation in state and federal courts, including conducting and managing written and document discovery, researching and drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings, conducting/defending depositions, interacting with the government and government agencies, preparing witnesses for testimony, appearing for status conferences, and arguing motions. Participation in mediation, settlement conferences, and negotiations, and experience with arbitration or trial preparation is preferred. In addition, because the associate’s work would include working with our government enforcement attorneys in Tampa and other offices, candidates should have experience conducting internal investigations involving corporate compliance with government regulations and federal laws, defending corporate clients facing enforcement actions by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and other U.S. and international regulators, and preparing witnesses for government interviews. Experience working for the DOJ or clerking/interning for a U.S. Attorney’s Office preferred but not required. We are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated lawyer, who has demonstrated an ability to thrive in a sophisticated practice in a busy, collegial environment, to assist with advancing the long-term strategic objectives of the Litigation Department. AmLaw 100 experience preferred. Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are required. To be considered, a candidate must hold a J.D. from an ABA-approved law school and be in good standing and an active member of the Florida Bar.
