Ascot exists to solve for our clients’ brightest tomorrow, through agility, collaboration, resilience, and discipline. </p> <p><b>Job Summary: </b></p> <p>Ascot’s Professional Liability/E&amp;O business unit is seeking a motivated Underwriting Assistant to work in growing a diverse suite of E&amp;O products, including Lawyers, Miscellaneous and Real Estate. The UA will be responsible for supporting and managing workflows between Underwriting and Operations. The successful candidate will handle the life cycle of an account, including new business, renewals and servicing of business. </p> <p><b>Responsibilities: </b></p> <ul> <li>Support all steps of the underwriting process in conjunction with the underwriting operations function. </li> <li>Partner with Underwriters, Brokers and Reinsurers as needed to communicate account status and complete outstanding subjectivities. </li> <li>Partner with Underwriters to confirm policy issuance instructions for policies, endorsements, forms, notices, certificates, etc. and effectively complete coding/issuance. </li> <li>Assist with new and renewal business life cycle work such as submission preparation, rating, referral prep, quoting, binding all the way through to policy issuance and endorsements within assigned authority. </li> <li>Preparation of renewals, including reviewing prior year account history and analysis of submission material received for the upcoming policy year. </li> <li>Collaborate with internal operations partners to ensure that service standards are being met. </li> <li>Ensure all parts of the Underwriting workflow are completed both accurately and on time. </li> <li>Assist underwriters processing new business submissions and rating sheets. </li> <li>Assist with other projects supporting the Underwriting team as required. </li> </ul> <p><b>Requirements: </b></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma, college degree preferred. </li> <li>3-5 years’ experience in a related field, P&amp;C industry experience, experience with professional liability/financial lines preferred. </li> <li>Must be positive, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. </li> <li>Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities. </li> <li>Strong critical thinking skills. </li> <li>Excellent organizational, desk management and prioritization skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. </li> <li>Strong collaborative skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. </li> <li>Time management and organizational skills. </li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Products. </ul> <p></p> <p><b>***This position may be filled at a different level, depending on experience*** </b></p> <p><b>Compensation </b></p> <p>Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, long-term incentives, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company.
