Compliance Associate

Position Summary: The Compliance Associate will support the Office of Ethics and Compliance’s (“OEC’s”) operations and activities, and manage the execution and timeline of projects to ensure that New York University's global operations comply with applicable national and international laws and regulations, as well as University policies. Responsibilities include 1) participating in OEC investigations, 2) partnering with other departments and academic units with compliance responsibilities in the preparation and deployment of compliance training programs, and 3) researching and advising on relevant policies and procedures. This position will report to the Chief Global Compliance Officer (“CGCO”). <br> Principal duties include: <br> <ul> <li> Collaborate with OEC’s development and administration of University-wide compliance and regulatory training programs, including appropriate introductory training and ongoing training.</li> <li> Develop systems to analyze data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of training programs.</li> <li> Contribute to the planning and development of compliance programs by tracking regulatory changes and conducting research and reporting on specific policies.</li> <li> Work closely with the CGCO to review compliance claims reports and provide recommendations on the preparation and conduct of investigations.</li> <li> Ensure that regulatory records which include compliance policies and procedures are maintained utilizing online tools. </li> <li>Manage policy review processes to meet project timelines and provide status reports to leadership.</li> <li> Contribute to streamlining current processes and identify area for improvement.</li> <li> Execute OEC’s goals and day-to-day tasks in an organized manner. </li> </ul>Qualifications: <b> Required Education:</b> <br> Bachelor's Degree <br> <br> <b>Required Experience:</b> <br> 2+ years of relevant experience in a university, government agency, non-profit, corporate environment, or law firm. <br> <br> <b>Preferred Experience:</b> <br> 2+ years Previous experience directly supporting operations processes and systems, regulatory requirements, policy review or project management responsibilities within a large, complex organization or established record evidencing ability to master and implement complex policy subject expertise within an organizational setting. <br> <br> <b>Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:</b> <br> • Ability to communicate technical and complex concepts. • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems. • Ability to respond effectively to confidential inquiries or complaints. • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work collegially with diverse personnel. • Ability to work in dependently and as a member of a team. • Exceptional analytical skills. • Discretion handling confidential information. • Must be detail oriented. <br> <br> <b>Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:</b> <br> Experience in participating in project management (e.g. capstone project, group work, or internal cross-collaborative work). Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $68,400.00 to USD $85,500.00.
