This attorney, will work as an Individual Contributor, will provide legal guidance and counsel on various matters impacting the GEICO companies. Although this attorney will be expected to operate as a generalist, the job will require expertise in one or more of the legal areas for which the Office of the General Counsel is responsible, including: <br> <br> <ul> <li>Contracts</li> <li>Property and casualty insurance underwriting</li> <li>Corporate litigation management</li> <li>e-commerce</li> <li>Intellectual property</li> <li>Consumer-protection laws</li> <li>Marketing and advertising law</li> </ul> <br> Responsibilities </div> <ul> <li> <div> Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills. </div></li> <li> <div> Problem solver for multiple clients within different parts of the business. </div></li> <li> <div> Pivot between different subject areas while providing advice on managing different legal, regulatory, and reputational risks. </div></li> <li> <div> Handle a substantial volume of work and to work under pressure with multiple/shifting deadlines. </div></li> <li> <div> Relationship builder with clients and cross functional partner. complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting and multi-tasking skills. </div></li> <li> <div> Must be able to organize and prioritize workload, work well individually and as a team member, advise and respond to business clients in a creative, effective, understanding, and communicate effectively </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Qualifications: </div> <ul> <li> <div> Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. </div></li> <li> <div> Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. </div></li> <li> <div> Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdiction </div></li> <li> <div> 2 years of experience practicing law </div></li> <li> <div> Property and casualty insurance regulation is preferred </div></li> <li> <div> Must be able to travel as required, to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences. </div></li> <li> <div> Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. </div></li> <li> <div> Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information. </div></li> <li> <div> Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in applicable jurisdictions and meet and maintain licensing requirements including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable. </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Benefits: </div> <div> The safety of our associates is GEICO’s highest priority.
