<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText" dir="ltr"><p></p> <div> <p>The Senior Counsel will work as a team member and independently to provide primary legal support to Cheniere’s Engineering &amp; Construction Team as well as regular legal support to Cheniere’s Operations and Corporate Development Teams. The Senior Counsel will be expected to deliver timely and quality legal services to clients with minimal supervision, manage outside legal resources effectively, and develop strong relationships in a hard-working, fast-moving, and ever-changing business environment.<br> </p> <p></p> <p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES </b></p> <ul> <li>Primary internal legal support for the Company’s Engineering &amp; Construction Team. </li> <li>Provide legal counseling and support (including negotiation, drafting, risk management and claim support) for various agreements related to the engineering, construction and operation of the Company’s LNG, natural gas pipeline and related facilities. </li> <li>Working directly with teams from across the Company, in particular the Engineering &amp; Construction, Operations, and Supply Chain Management Teams, to provide sound and prompt legal service and advice. </li> <li>Coordinating across multiple disciplines to identify project needs and ensure timely and coordinated execution of development activities to meet project deadlines. </li> <li>Supervising and directing outside counsel as appropriate. </li> <li>The Senior Counsel is expected to have opportunities to support Cheniere’s broader business development efforts and projects. </li> <li>The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands </li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels within the organization, including senior management.<br> </li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b>KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: </b></p> <p><b>Knowledge: </b></p> <p>Substantive knowledge and strong transactional experience in drafting, negotiating, implementing, interpreting and supporting EPC, EPCM, Pre-FEED, FEED, O&amp;M and related agreements (experience on LNG projects preferred), including consideration of the following in support of such agreements: risk mitigation and management; project funding and finance; intellectual property; FERC matters; change, warranty, indemnity and claim management; export compliance and anti-corruption laws; and litigation. </p> <p><b>Skills: </b></p> <ul> <li>Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgment and common sense. </li> <li>Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication and legal research skills. </li> <li>Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple activities timely and with a high degree of accuracy. </li> <li>Strong business acumen and analytical skills. </li> <li>Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision in a dynamic work environment, and to effectively work with and manage outside counsel. </li> <li>Strong and current knowledge of Federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety laws, policies, and issues. </li> <li>Computer savvy, including Microsoft Office Suite consisting of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.<br> </li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE </b></p> <p><b>Education, Training and Certifications </b>: </p> <p>Bachelor’s Degree and Doctor of Jurisprudence with strong academic credentials. </p> <p><b>Experience </b>: </p> <p>Minimum of ten (10) years working in a large sophisticated law firm, comparable in-house position, or a combination of law firm and in-house experience.<br> </p> <p></p> <p><b>DIRECT REPORTS </b></p> <ul> <li>None<br> </li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b>WORK CONDITIONS </b></p> <p>Position is located in Cheniere’s headquarters in Houston, TX. Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others. Business requirements may frequently necessitate that work be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends. Business requirements may require travel, including to operating facilities or facilities under development or construction.
