At Linklaters, we are looking for a passionate, curious and driven Associate based in our Singapore office, to be a part of our Banking & Finance practice. Key Requirements: Singapore qualified. 3 years to 5 years post qualification experience (on the Singapore scale) Trained at a top tier firm with prior experience in restructuring and insolvency work (having experience on consensual financial restructurings will be a plus) Strong interest to learn and develop expertise within the restructuring & insolvency space Proactive, commercially minded, and a strong team player Strong academic background, obtaining a 2:1 or above during your undergraduate degree Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (Mandarin is an added advantage), being able to effectively deal with clients and colleagues Key Responsibilities & Challenges: Technical Researching the appropriate primary and secondary sources to correctly identify and analyse issues and provide legal advice to clients Draft and review various documentation, develop and demonstrate familiarity with precedents and market standards Exercising due diligence and judging appropriately when to seek advice and when to advise without supervision Having strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in order to produce high-quality work products Client Relationship Management Exceeding client expectations by anticipating client needs and resolving problems proactively Enhancing team’s client knowledge and contributing effectively in client meetings Relaying client feedback to the responsible Partner Building and maintaining co-operative, communicative relationships with the client team Business Development Maintaining knowledge of latest commercial and legal intelligence or market situation and its impact on the business Keeping up-to-date with client industry developments and their implications Network with clients to capitalize on new business opportunities Contributing to business planning – demonstrating awareness of the firm’s strategic direction Training Delivering practice specific training to develop trainees and other junior associates Regularly giving and seeking clear performance feedback to/from others Technical Skills: This list of duties and responsibilities above is not exhaustive.
