We operate in 34 states and the District of Columbia under the Albertsons banner, as well as Safeway, Tom Thumb, Jewel Osco, Shaw’s and many more recognizable names. **Counsel – Pharmacy Contracts** Albertsons Companies is seeking a Pharmacy Contracting Counsel to provide specialized legal counsel regarding pharmacy and health related matters. Counsel will be a member of the Albertsons Companies Pharmacy & Health Law Team and will support a variety of complex contracting to further Albertsons’ strategic initiatives. The position will report to the Senior Counsel of Pharmacy Operations Law and will serve as counsel to the Managed Care and Third-Party Contracting team, as well as Pharmacy Procurement, Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacy Compliance, Specialty Pharmacy, and the Health teams. This role will have a principal focus on reviewing and negotiating payor agreements, procurement agreements, and other agreements as assigned. The Counsel for Pharmacy Contracts will also collaborate with Albertsons’ Contracting Center of Excellence and others within the company on efficient contract management processes. This role will be based near one of our divisional offices: Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Pleasanton, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Boise, ID, Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, or Boston, MA. **Main responsibilities:** * Coordinate efforts with internal clients as well as other internal and external attorneys to provide legal advice regarding complex issues on a broad range of pharmacy and health topics. * Draft, negotiate, and provide legal and business advice regarding complex transactions involving sophisticated counterparties. * Draft, negotiate, and provide legal and business advice regarding various third-party payor arrangements. * Draft, negotiate, and provide legal and business advice with respect to various vaccine, testing, and other clinical service agreements. * Collaborate with legal and business teams. **What we are searching for:** * Law degree from an accredited law school. * Active membership in good standing with the Bar of any state that enables admission to practice as in-house counsel. * At least five (5) years legal experience in health care law; experience supporting PBMs, payors, or pharmacies preferred. * Perform factual and legal research, analysis, guidance, and legal correspondence. * Ability to identify and analyze complex health care regulatory issues and evaluate their broader implications for the business; interact with clients on all levels; provide timely, practical, legal advice and solutions; and communicate effectively in person and in writing. * Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and take ownership of issues and matters to their successful conclusion. * Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to inspire trust and confidence with stakeholders at high levels. * Exemplary leadership, time management, advocacy, and organizational skills. * Committed to compliance. **What it is like at Albertsons?** **Albertsons Culture Principles** **Compassion** : We always treat each other with kindness and respect **Team** : We always support and recognize each other **Inclusive** : We always value everyone’s perspective **Learning** : We always strive to grow and develop ourselves and others **Competitive** : We always act with integrity to win over the customer **Ownership** : We always take actions to drive our success
