<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText jobsearch-JobComponent-description css-sn7po5 eu4oa1w0"><div> <div> GEICO Staff Counsel is searching for a PIP Attorney to join our growing team - Law Office of Haydee De La Rosa-Tolfyesi, located in Coral Gables/Miami, FL, is seeking an attorney to defend PIP lawsuits filed in Florida courts and other first-party insurance defense matters. </div> <div></div> <div> Primary Responsibilities: </div> <ul> <li> <div> Conducting legal research and drafting legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda. </div></li> <li> <div> Providing opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department. </div></li> <li> <div> Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing, all matters assigned, as applicable. </div></li> <li> <div> Travelling as required, including to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences. </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Basic Qualifications: </div> <ul> <li> <div> Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. </div></li> <li> <div> Admitted to the Florida Bar and licensed in good standing to practice law in Florida. </div></li> <li> <div> 1-5 years of Civil litigation experience preferred. </div></li> <li> <div> Insurance defense-related litigation experience preferred. </div></li> <li> <div> Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and through written correspondence. </div></li> <li> <div> Strong organizational, priority setting, and multi-tasking skills. </div></li> <li> <div> Ability to learn and apply technical and procedural information quickly and accurately. </div></li> <li> <div> Must meet and maintain licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements. </div></li> <li> <div> Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases. </div></li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Location – HYBRID: Must reside in the tri-county area; Miami-Dade County, Broward County and West Palm Beach County. </div> <br> <div></div> At this time, GEICO will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. <div></div> <div> <br> Benefits: </div> <div> As an Associate, you’ll enjoy our <div> Total Rewards Program </div> <ul> <li>to help secure your financial future and preserve your health and well-being, including:</li> </ul> </div> <ul> <li> Premier Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with no waiting period**</li> <li> Paid Vacation, Sick and Parental Leave</li> <li> 401(k) Plan</li> <li> Tuition Reimbursement</li> <li> Paid Training and Licensures</li> </ul> <div></div> <ul> <li>Benefits may be different by location.
