THE OPPORTUNITY: As one of our Knowledge Management (KM) Attorneys you will partner with other KM and Seyfarth Attorneys to support the development and management of 50-state surveys which cover of a variety of legal topics; stay informed about market trends and technology developments applicable to key topics; develop and streamline knowledge sharing strategies and processes; contribute to cross-departmental thought leadership and client alert triage initiatives related to key legal topics; and contribute to ad hoc knowledge management and research projects as needed. *This is a remote opportunity (please see below for a list of States where this position can be based).* THE DAY-TO-DAY: The Knowledge Management Attorney will have responsibility for coverage of a number of legal topics involving tracking developments and changes in the law, and appropriately capturing and communicating those changes across platforms and practice groups. Survey work would include curating, creating, and updating 50-state surveys on various topics which would involve legislative monitoring and continuous research in these areas to ensure survey content is accurate and up-to-date, and pushing developments to appropriate practice group leaders for their triage related to external client alerts and other thought leadership on relevant developments. Supporting cross-departmental initiatives with a research component, including streamlining various knowledge management initiatives, client alert efforts and deliverables, and assisting in research efforts in support of our experience management system. Additional responsibilities of the role would include administrative calls with our Survey Center team, liaising with our library professionals and third party research vendors. YOU HAVE: A J.D. from an ABA accredited law school. Minimum of four years’ legal or legal research experience, preferably in a large-law firm setting. Ability to build and maintain relationships with Department personnel, Firm management, other attorneys and staff. Advanced proficiency in conducting research and drafting legal documents Commitment to knowledge-sharing, efficiency and excellence in legal work. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills including record keeping, data collection and system information. Ability to compile and analyze data and furnish concise, detailed information in survey format, written correspondence, e- mail or verbally. Superior organizational skills, extreme attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Computer proficient with strong understanding in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint and other various legal search engines and research platforms.
