Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join the firm’s Dallas office and become an integral part of its support team. Familiarity with insurance companies and claims is desirable. Candidates with two to four years of litigation paralegal experience who have strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, ShareFile, Adobe Acrobat, and e-discovery software, such as Nextpoint, are encouraged to apply. Primary duties and responsibilities, job specifications and qualifications, educational requirements and prior work experience are outlined below. Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Ability to assess attorney’s requests and determine the most efficient and appropriate course of action; Heavy e-discovery database set-up/maintenance with vendors, assessing case needs, obtaining quotes, issue coding, importing/uploading documents; Document organization and review, including identifying important documents, summarizing key information, preparing coverage charts, chronologies and witness lists; Coordination of technical aspects of case management including assisting with document productions, reviewing for privilege, redacting/bates labeling, preparing privilege logs, researching and preparing background information on individuals, companies, judges, attorneys and managing access to software licenses; Preparing ShareFile links and working with attorneys to send and receive files; and Mediation, motion and trial preparation, including preparing and maintaining exhibit lists and preparing presentations; Indexing documents and analysis of legal fees; Other duties as assigned. Required Job Specifications/Qualifications: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and ShareFile; Advanced proficiency in e-discovery software, preferably Nextpoint; Familiarity with insurance companies and claims is a plus; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing with internal and external clients; Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills; Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and demands; Ability to collaborate with co-workers and work well in a team environment; Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimal direction; Willingness to work hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressure; Ability to enter time daily in billing software; Ability to work in the office at least three days per week; Strong initiative to meet billable hour requirements; Willingness to learn new software.
