Description
Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP is a mid-sized Chicago law firm in search of a Trademark Paralegal for its Intellectual Property Practice Group. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducting trademark searches and preparing reports Filing trademark applications and managing the application process Monitoring and maintaining trademark registrations Preparing responses to office actions from the USPTO or other international trademark offices Conducting trademark clearance reviews for new products or services Maintaining and updating the company’s trademark database and files Assisting with trademark litigation and enforcement matters Conducting legal research on trademark law and related issues QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in trademark law Strong knowledge of trademark laws, regulations, and procedures Excellent organizational and time-management skills Attention to detail and accuracy Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools Ability to work independently and as part of a team PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
