Responsibilities and practice The Birmingham office of Dentons Sirote is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal. The person hired for this position will work closely with our attorneys and other staff members to assume such responsibilities as: Assist attorney(s) in preparing for trials, hearings, depositions, briefs, etc. Draft legal documents such as subpoenas, pleadings, and other related correspondence. Conduct basic legal research such as background searches, case law. Cite-check and blue book briefs. Assist with case analysis and meets all applicable deadlines. Conduct electronic filings of pleadings in state, federal and appellate courts. Summarize and manage large document productions. Assist with all aspects of document productions (including, redactions, and bates stamping). Manage cases for assigned attorneys. Creating and maintaining case chronologies. Trial preparation and support. Proficient in administrative task (calendaring, meeting deadlines, organization of case files, managing logistics, etc.). Work and assist in the firm’s document management system. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field or certificate from an accredited paralegal program. Minimum of 3 years prior litigation paralegal experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented. Knowledge and understanding of Relativity. Knowledge and understanding of Trial Director is a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
