<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText" dir="ltr"><div> <div> If you have what it takes to become part of the Vistra family and would like to start a promising career with a global leader, take a look at the exciting employment opportunities that are currently available and apply online. </div> <div></div> <div> Job Summary </div> Member of the fast-paced and fully integrated Vistra Regulatory &amp; Compliance team for wholesale trading and commercial businesses, reporting to Managing Counsel, Regulatory &amp; Compliance. <br> Works closely with other members of the Vistra legal, compliance, risk management, and regulatory affairs teams to provide legal and compliance guidance to business units. <br> Provides legal research and analysis necessary to design, implement, and maintain compliance analysis and controls and will lead discovery efforts and case management in responding to regulator inquiries. <br> Advocates the interests of the business units of Vistra before the relevant regulatory bodies at the federal level, such as FERC, CFTC, and the RTO/ISOs. <div></div> <div> Job Description </div> <div> Key Accountabilities </div> <ul> <li>Develop understanding of Vistra business unit objectives.</li> <li>Provide compliance coverage under Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Commodities Future Trading Commission, and Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) rules for Vistra commercial business units, including designing, implementing, and maintaining compliance controls consistent with those rules.</li> <li>Provide legal research and analysis necessary to support commercial business units’ compliance in wholesale electricity and natural gas markets.</li> <li>Make formal and informal contact with regulators, RTO staff, market monitor staff, and other market participants to gain better understanding of relevant rules and the overall regulatory environment.</li> <li>Represent the company in regulatory proceedings.</li> <li>Facilitate agreement across a wide range of disparate internal stakeholders.</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> <div> Education, Experience, &amp; Skill Requirements </div> <ul> <li>J.D. required; must be licensed to practice law, preferably in Texas</li> <li>Judicial or regulatory agency clerkship preferred</li> <li>Minimum 3 years’ practice in litigation or regulatory/administrative practice required; energy or financial services experience preferred</li> <li>Strong analytical skills, judgment, energy/enthusiasm, and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Skilled in use of Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn and use additional computer applications as needed</li> <li>References and writing sample required</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> <div> Key Metrics </div> <ul> <li>Work closely with the business units to maintain compliance with relevant rules, keep business units and other functional teams abreast of any changes to the regulatory and compliance environment, and assist to develop responses to regulator and market monitor inquiries.</li> <li>Coordinate and lead the preparation, submittal, and management of filings, reports, responses to investigations, and responses to requests for information, including management of broad discovery requests and legal / data preservation requirements.</li> </ul> </div> </div> <div></div> <div> Job Family </div> Legal/Compliance <div></div> <div> Company </div> Vistra Corporate Services Company <div></div> <div> Locations </div> Irving, Texas <div></div> Texas <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <i> We are a company of people committed to: Exceeding Customer Expectations, Great People, Teamwork, Competitive Spirit and Effective Communication.
