We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated attorney to lead the legal team supporting commercial products in our Neuroscience Business Unit. This role offers a unique opportunity to join the leadership team, reporting directly to the Head of the Business Unit Legal Team, and forming a strong partnership with the President of the Neuroscience Business Unit. This role will serve as the top legal strategic advisor and act as a catalyst, strategist and operator of the legal support for the business.</p> <p></p> <p> In addition, this attorney will be responsible for building the legal strategy and support vital to commercialize our emerging Cell &amp; Gene therapeutic platform, including those assets receiving positive commercial decision from our acquisitions of Akuous and Prevail. In that capacity, this attorney will have a strong partnership with the Senior Vice President and CEO of Akuous, and the leadership teams of Akuous and Prevail.</p> <p></p> <p> Beginning with the commercialization of the Company’s diagnostic products to support our neuroscience platform, this attorney will be responsible for leading the legal strategy necessary to develop and commercialize diagnostics in support of all our therapeutic areas.</p> <p></p> <p> Ideally, this candidate will have prior experience counseling pharmaceutical companies on legal issues related to global and U.S. efforts to develop, register, market, price and distribute medicines and diagnostics. The attorney will provide legal advice to leadership, product development and brand teams on various legal matters including but not limited to FDA clinical development, labeling and promotional matters, medical affairs, product distribution and reimbursement, the Anti-kickback Statute and its safe harbors, the False Claims Act, antitrust, commercial law, and business transactions.</p> <p></p> <p> This individual will have had the demonstrated ability to act as an enterprise resource connector, bringing together a wide variety of collaborators across legal and the business to accomplish the strategic objectives of the business they support. Join Team Lilly today!</p> <p></p> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Basic Requirements</b><b>:</b></h2> <ul> <li> JD degree from accredited schools, be admitted to the bar in at least one of the fifty states; be eligible to be admitted to the bar in Indiana under Indiana Admissions Rules if relocating to Indiana</li> <li> Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal leadership experience either practicing as a member of a law firm with a nationally-recognized practice in a relevant area of law, in house at a pharmaceutical, diagnostic or biotechnology company’s law department or a combination of the two.</li> </ul> <p></p> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Additional Skills and Expertise:</b></h2> <ul> <li> Working knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical marketing laws and regulations</li> <li> Understanding of FDA laws and regulations pertaining to diagnostic labs (e.g., Medical Device Amendments of 1976 to the FDCA, CLIA, Valid Act) and, preferably, pharmaceutical and device marketing laws and regulations as generally practiced by innovative, multinational pharmaceutical manufacturers</li> <li> Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present complex information accurately and concisely influencing at all levels of management</li> <li> Demonstrated ability to assess and help manage risks in a highly regulated environment</li> <li> Strong track record demonstrating ability to influence people and outcomes</li> <li> Strong organizational skills and inspiring people manager</li> <li> Impactful people manager with a proven record of developing, mentoring and leading people</li> <li> Strong analytical skills, sound judgment and issue spotting ability</li> <li> Demonstrated learning agility</li> <li> Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner well with others</li> <li> Committed to teamwork and collaboration</li> </ul> <p></p> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Other Information</b><b>:</b></h2> <p> Some travel required (US and limited international)</p> <p></p> <p> Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $237,000 - $347,600 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
