Department purpose The Advanced Delivery - Legal (ADL) will cost-effectively resource elements of large matters while guaranteeing the standards that clients expect from A&O as well as developing expertise in a wide range of smaller matters and activities. Led by an experienced partner and comprising legal professionals and junior associates supervised by highly experienced managing and senior associates, the ADL works alongside A&O offices around the world on a wide range of document-based matters, including due diligence, litigation reviews, drafting, negotiating and research tasks. The focus on quality, supported by project management and workflow technology, ensures a highly effective as well as efficient service to clients. Role and responsibilities Junior Associates act as mid-level specialists within their practice areas or more broadly. At this point individuals are able to work independently, lead a team and be the first line of support for Legal Support Professionals/Paralegals. They report to Team Managers/Senior Associates. Working on matters - providing specialist and significant general legal knowledge. Issue spotting and report writing/drafting. Responsible for drafting/negotiating contracts with a medium to advanced level of complexity. Leading projects/teams. Quality controlling the work of more junior members of the team. Training junior team members. Carrying out BD and presenting directly to internal/external clients. Owning relationships with internal/external clients. Continuing to build their own expertise and the profile of the ADC through spending periods on secondment to clients (internal or external).Key requirements 3+ years PQE or equivalent experience from an ALSP (but not legally qualified). Relevant experience in a professional environment. Experience in specific finance / corporate law areas is a bonus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Flexible and proactive. Consistently demonstrate a professional manner with evidence of exceptional levels of judgment, commercial awareness and critical thinking. Strong focus on detail and high levels of self-motivation. Proven ability to take ownership of own work. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong relationship-building skills – a team player with the ability to establish credibility and inspire confidence with clients and senior colleagues. Must show evidence of a high level of personal resilience coupled with an ambition to continuously challenge oneself. Demonstrate a high level of affinity with legal technology.
