Key responsibilities and challenges Technical Assists and advise clients on corporate and/or financial transactions. Works on a wide range of domestic and international transactions including acquisitions, reorganisations, cross-border mergers, equity restructurings and financing/refinancing transactions Takes initial instructions internally or externally, delegating where appropriate Demonstrates familiarity with relevant market standards and precedents Drafts with reference to the legal and commercial arguments, writing succinctly, objectively and logically. Client Relationship Management Takes a lead role in advising the client Provides commercial and legal advice to the client Demonstrates thorough market knowledge to identify current trends and concerns in relevant industry sectors. Able to present ideas to the client to resolve current market issues and anticipate potential problems Work Management Supervises team and demonstrates control (particularly of documentation) through effective delegation Co-ordinates, coaches and monitors the work of others to facilitate achievement of objectives Manages meetings effectively by setting clear objectives and agendas and encourages other’s participation Exercises financial discipline. Records time accurately and in accordance with the firm’s guidelines and guides junior lawyers Develops and participates in group projects and initiatives including marketing and know-how projects Debriefs at the end of a matter or at other appropriate stages. Business Development Networking with clients to capitalise on new business opportunities Contributes to quality know-how and transaction bibles and their upkeep Contributes to client pitches and attends pitches where appropriate Actively shares insights gained from client interactions.  Working with Others Quickly establishes constructive and collaborative working relationships Makes yourself available, acting as a sounding board for colleagues, calling out inappropriate behaviour and facilitating flow of communication between team and other parts of the firm Inspires confidence and respect of others through all interactions Communicates effectively, adapts communication style in recognition of diverse working styles and different pressure points Energy and commitment, with a flexible and proactive approach Appreciative of the culturally diverse environment in which the firm operates.  Knowledge & Learning Delivers practice specific training to develop junior associates Regularly gives and seeks clear performance feedback to/from others Contributes to development of necessary precedents and know-how, and shares knowledge and learning with others Mentors less experienced associates and trainees. Qualifications European qualified lawyer with outstanding academic qualifications Demonstrate minimum of 6 years of experience. Language skills Fluent in French and English; German would be an asset.
