Department purpose The Advanced Delivery Centre (ADC) will cost-effectively resource elements of large matters while guaranteeing the standards that clients expect from A&O as well as developing expertise in a wide range of smaller matters and activities. Led by an experienced partner and comprising legal professionals and junior associates supervised by highly experienced managing and senior associates, the ADC works alongside A&O offices around the world on a wide range of document-based matters, including due diligence, litigation reviews, drafting, negotiating and research tasks. The focus on quality, supported by project management and workflow technology, ensures a highly effective as well as efficient service to clients. Role and responsibilities Overall responsibility for running teams of junior lawyers in a specific work area, working with Transaction Managers (Senior Associates) in other ADLs in the network and reporting to local Head of Office. There may be one or more Transaction Managers in a particular area of work (e.g. 2-3 in Banking, etc..) Specific role managing teams of around 10 junior lawyers/paralegals in a particular area of specialism (litigation, banking, corporate, commercial) to deliver junior/paralegal work product Work with clients (internal/external) to define and deliver specific work product Establish and maintain the highest standards for quality, efficiency, and service including quality controlling the work of more junior members of the team. Provide legal expertise in relevant area of specialism, including drafting, reviewing and amending documentation, document management, Liaise with instructing clients/offices on matters, including on pricing, scope of work, timelines. Manage and report on progress and liaise with internal and external clients to address points of relevance or concern and resolving queries and issues. Responsible for all aspects of people management within teams Involvement in pitches to clients (internal/external). Key requirements 7+ years PQE Desirable to have project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2), but not essential Experience leading and coordinating complex multi-faceted matters, including multi-jurisdictional matters large teams on large matters on international projects. Experience of managing teams and supervising junior lawyers and/or trainees. Commercially astute and deep expertise in either international transactional or disputes law, or alternatively very senior generalist legal experience. A professional manner, with high levels of integrity, resilience and diplomacy. Consistently demonstrate a professional manner with evidence of exceptional levels of judgment, commercial awareness and critical thinking. Flexible, resourceful and prepared to take a hands-on-approach, comfortable operating in what is essentially a rapidly evolving new business and interested in identifying and shaping that evolution. Strong focus on detail and high levels of self-motivation. Proven ability to take ownership of own work. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Strong relationship-building skills – a team player with the ability to establish credibility and inspire confidence with clients and senior colleagues. Demonstrate a high level of affinity with legal technology.
