Global Competition Review, GCR 100: Global Elite, among the top 10 global law firms for antitrust and competition matters worldwide, Law Business Research Ltd, 2020 We currently have an opportunity available for an experienced lawyer/Associate who is commercially focused and possesses ideally strong skills in competition and consumer law, regulatory and commercial litigation matters. Working closely with industry leading partners you will be involved in a wide range of complex regulatory advisory and litigation matters. Advising corporate clients (manufacturing, transport, media, construction, financial services, FMCG, technology, infrastructure), utilities (electricity, gas, water, telecommunications and transport), and regulators such as the ACCC and the Australian Energy Regulator, you will be involved in and gain exposure to: Providing advice on all aspects of competition and consumer law Advising domestic and global commercial clients in relation to competition issues arising in merger clearances and seeking clearance of domestic, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions Antitrust and competition dispute resolution and litigation for corporate clients and the ACCC Investigations into anti-competitive conduct, cartels (including criminal cartels), Australian Consumer Law contraventions Various energy and regulatory frameworks, including working on some of the firm’s highest profile renewable energy projects Economic regulation,, licensing, network access and price control in monopoly Requirements 2-4 years PQE experience gained within a reputable practice with significant exposure to competition and regulatory and/or consumer law matters A strong desire to work on high profile complex matters Exceptional client liaison skills Outstanding analytical, technical and drafting skills The successful candidate will need to be a strong team player, commercially minded and have exceptional academic achievements.
