With approximately 100 registered patent attorneys having a variety of technical backgrounds and advanced degrees, our team prosecutes patent applications in virtually every area of science. We’re skilled in guiding clients through the application process – from prior art searches to patent issuance – and we’re experienced in proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). By challenging pending applications and issued patents filed by competitors, we help clients preserve market share and freedom to operate. Our team develops and implements commercialization, cross-licensing, and defensive positioning plans to meet our clients’ business objectives. Capitalizing on our firm’s global reach and network of foreign associates, we guide clients in filing patents in multiple countries and help create value through patent strategies that advance our clients’ business goals. Job Description Greenberg Traurig is seeking a junior to mid-level patent associate to join its Intellectual Property group. We are looking for someone who is hard-working, personable and dedicated to providing clients with top-notch legal services. This position can be resident in various office locations; candidates should specify office location preference in application. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of relevant experience in the life sciences area. Experience includes, but is not limited to, evaluating patent portfolios, performing due diligence investigations, drafting and prosecuting patent applications, and patent portfolio management. Candidates should be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with a strong background in scientific fields relevant to biotechnology. Advanced degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or Immunology is desired. Experience in a law firm is required. Candidates must have excellent academic credentials and communication skills. Candidates should possess leadership skills, be comfortable working directly with clients and work well with others. The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $205,000 to $325,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
