We have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate 4-6 PQE to join our real estate team to be based in Cheltenham. With an office size of just over 100, there is a strong sense of community and togetherness. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our UK and international offices, all from our Cheltenham office. We are looking for a mid-level/senior lawyer to work with the Firm’s landed and urban estate clients and private capital developers and investors on a wide range of work including residential and commercial development and investment projects, leasing, asset management and renewable energy matters. There will be a particular focus on strategic land development work. You may have specific experience in one or more of the above areas, but what is key is an ability and willingness to get involved in work that may not always have an “off-the-peg” answer. The role will suit someone who has excellent people skills who is looking to develop their career within a friendly collegiate team. The team works closely with the wider real estate team and the Firm’s Tax/Trusts, Private Property, finance and corporate teams across all of the UK offices. We work hard to develop and build lasting relationships and truly get to know our clients to deliver a premium service and a client-focused approach is a must. The Cheltenham office team, led by Ian Brothwood, consists of four Partners, a senior associate, two associates, one paralegal and one trainee. The recruit will be working primarily with Ian Brothwood and Phil Webb, but you will be encouraged to work with other Partners in the wider real estate team. Ian Brothwood heads up the Strategic Land Focus Group acting for landowners in relation to large scale residential development schemes. Naomi Nettleton, Partner, advises commercial clients on complex and challenging property transactions in both the commercial and residential spheres. She leads the firm’s hotels focus group. Nigel Morton, Partner, advises commercial clients on residential investment and development and acts for a wide range of clients from landowners to investment funds. Phil Webb, Partner, is co-lead for the firm’s energy focus group and acts for landowners in relation to energy projects and large-scale residential schemes.
