As a Legal Counsel IP Director, supporting the Surgical Franchise, you will be trusted to work on ophthalmic devices and materials at from our Fort Worth, TX location.
</div>

In this role, a typical day will include:
</div>
<ul>
<li>
<div>
Collaborating with internal clients, including senior management, on patentability, enforcement, validity, freedom-to-operate, and IP strategy.
</div></li>
<li>
<div>
Identifying and leading IP opportunities and risks related to new product development.
</div></li>
<li>
<div>
Leading and supporting IP collection projects, patent committees, and training sessions.
</div></li>
<li>
<div>
Mining for, preparing, and prosecuting patent applications.
</div></li>
<li>
<div>
Providing legal counsel and support for BD&L, litigation, and development activities.
</div></li>
</ul>

<div>
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
</div>
<ul>
<li>
<div>
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
</div></li>
<li>
<div>
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
</div></li>
<li>
<div>
10 Years of Validated Experience, 5 years confirmed ability prosecuting and handling patent matters.
</div></li>
<li>
<div>
Member of a state bar in good standing.
</div></li>
<li>
<div>
Registered to practice before the United State Patent and Trademark Office.
</div></li>
<li>
<div>
Expertise in patent laws and procedures (including IPRs and Oppositions before the EPO), patent scope analysis, patent drafting and prosecution, and patent portfolio strategy.
</div></li>
