<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-JobComponent-description css-16y4thd eu4oa1w0"><div> <p>The Assistant Vice President Ceded Reinsurance is responsible for identifying, billing, and collecting Chubb’s reinsurance assets arising out of complex legacy and long-tail exposure claims, predominately asbestos (and other mass tort), environmental, and molestation. The AVP’s responsibilities may include drafting reinsurance billings and supporting calculations, reviewing billing presentations drafted by other team members and interacting with Chubb’s reinsurers (responding to queries, collection meetings, negotiations of disputed claims). The AVP will manage certain disputed claims through all stages of formal collection proceedings, including oversight of in-house and outside counsel. The AVP will also participate in management of Chubb’s relationship with distressed/insolvent/bankrupt reinsurers and reinsurance service providers, and provide input on Chubb’s strategy for filing proofs of claim and interacting with liquidators. The Assistant Vice President Ceded Reinsurance will report directly to the VP of Reinsurance Billings.<br> <br> <br></p> <p>JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Manage, coach, mentor and provide technical guidance to claim professionals regarding issues with reinsurance billing presentations, including answering reinsurers queries or disputes on complex long-tail claims. Review/provide feedback to other team members on billing letters or written communications with reinsurers or other external parties.</li> <li>Manage and work closely with Actuarial, Finance, and Legal on all Insolvencies, to ensure accurate and complete filings in insolvent insurance estates. Provide input on strategy and participate in relationships with distressed/insolvent/bankrupt reinsurers, TPAs or pool managers.</li> <li>Independently and proactively manage some assigned accounts, interact with direct claims team and interact/negotiate with reinsurers as necessary.</li> <li>Review and provide feedback on draft legal documents (such as briefing) for matters in formal dispute.</li> <li>Develop, and present to management, strategies for resolution of disputed billings through dispute management process.</li> <li>Coordinate with and support the Ceded Collections Team and the legal team, with collections, dispute resolution, and management of Sch. F penalties.</li> <li>Coordinate with and support actuarial and finance teams with establishing appropriate ceded and bad debt reserves.</li> <li>Prepare and/or contribute to various management reports.</li> </ul> </div> <br> <div> <ul> <li>4 year college degree and 10 years’ experience handling legacy complex, long-tail ceded reinsurance claims.</li> <li>Law degree with bankruptcy experience preferred.</li> <li>Experience interpreting and analyzing the application of reinsurance contracts and underwriting and placing records.</li> <li>Experience managing or participating in disputed/litigated reinsurance matters.</li> <li>Ability to work independently.</li> <li>Strong research and analytical skills.</li> <li>Strong factual and persuasive writing skills</li> <li>Experience in negotiating disputed claims to final resolution.</li> </ul> </div> <br> <div> <div> Chubb is a world leader in insurance.
