Job Title
Labor & Employment Counsel - Boston
Firm
Seyfarth Shaw LLP
Location
Massachusetts-Boston
Description
Seyfarth Shaw LLP seeks an attorney with a solid 7+ years of experience to join its expanding innovative, client-centric team in a full-time (40 hours per week) salaried position. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in labor and employment law, particularly single-plaintiff employment litigation and administrative charges, preferably on the defense, and be licensed in Massachusetts. This unique client team attracts former partners in firms and former senior associates who want the experience of working on exciting matters in a collaborative, flexible, environment without the pressures of many partnership track requirements, who place substantial value on a work/life balance, and who are comfortable working from home or otherwise remotely. We are expanding this team and invite you to learn more about this unique opportunity. Attorneys in this role will be dedicated to a select number of client portfolios - focused on L&E work - and will develop a deep knowledge of the client so as to strengthen and grow the client relationship. This role will handle matters in federal and state courts, and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Department of Labor, as well as other federal, state, and local administrative agencies, with minimal oversight. The practice includes both overseeing EEOC Charges, including defending investigations, preparing position statements, defending clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, representing clients in mediations and conciliations, and negotiating settlements, as well as directly managing single-plaintiff litigation, including drafting responsive pleadings, handling all aspects of the discovery process (including taking and defending depositions), drafting motions and briefs, including motions for summary judgment, and, where appropriate, delegating such work to and reviewing the work of more junior attorneys. Occasional travel, both in-state and out-of-state, may be required. At Seyfarth, we value diversity and provide equal opportunities to all qualified applicants. Note To Agencies and Applicants: At this time, Seyfarth Shaw LLP will not be accepting applications submitted through search firms for this position. All qualified candidates must submit their own applications to be considered for this position. Qualifications
