The Utility and Energy Practice at Cozen O'Connor is seeking an attorney to join its New York or Philadelphia office. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in practice before or with a State Public Utility Commission, particularly the NJ Board of Public Utilities. Experience with renewable energy, including solar and offshore wind, is preferred. Candidates with prior work experience within the government or utility/energy companies are encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience practicing before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will also be considered. Admission to the NJ bar is required, NY and/or PA preferred. This is a hybrid position, three days in office is required. Cozen O’Connor’s Utility & Energy Practice guides clients through complex regulatory approvals by state public utility commissions and other federal and state regulatory agencies, and represents clients in utility- and energy-related transactions, litigation, enforcement actions, and regulatory proceedings. We represent public utilities (water/wastewater, natural gas, electric, transportation, and telecommunication), renewable and clean energy companies, infrastructure investment funds, power producers, competitive retail suppliers, municipalities and municipal authorities, large institutional and manufacturing consumers, technology companies, and corporate clients. We also have significant experience handling matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) involving complex regulatory issues. Cozen O’Connor attorneys have decades of relevant legal experience, in private practice, as in-house counsel, and as state regulatory agency counsel.
