You will report to EA's Senior Product Counsel.</p> <p>You will be a member of the product counsel team, serving as the primary legal support across EA's game products. You are an effective and practical attorney who understands how EA's games work with a good understanding of the product development and live service cycle and the legal issues associated with EA's products. This is a great opportunity for a team-oriented attorney, who is interested in providing hands-on support to EA's game development and marketing teams. You are enthusiastic about EA's products and has the skills and demeanor to integrate into the game development teams across numerous products building relationships within the studios to ensure integrated product legal support.</p> <p>Join us in driving the next revolution in games.</p> <p><b>Role Summary</b></p> <p>You will work with a team of attorneys, legal professionals, and business partners to provide legal support to the studios, game development teams, and product marketing teams. Our product counsel team builds collaborative relationships across the product development teams and provides hands-on legal support throughout the product life-cycle. You will be on the cutting edge of product development for electronic games including supporting the development and launch of state-of-the-art product features and marketing campaigns. You will use your knowledge of consumer protection, IP, privacy, e-commerce, and commercial transactional laws and regulations to provide practical business facing advice to shape EA's products.</p> <p><b>Role Responsibility Details</b></p> <ul> <li>Engage early and often with EA's studio, product development, and marketing teams.</li> <li>Cultivate collaborative partnerships across EA's studio, product development, product marketing teams and EA's legal teams. Success in this position relies heavily on collaborating with numerous teams and developing trust across those teams.</li> <li>Bring a deep working knowledge of U.S. and international laws and regulations related to game design, monetization, advertising, in-game content, and technology for console, PC, cloud gaming, mobile games, and subscription-based business models.</li> <li>Provide practical, clear and easy to understand legal advice to the business often explaining complex legal advice in business-friendly terms.</li> <li>Conduct rights clearance and risk assessment for publishing our games on new platforms and business models.</li> </ul> <p><b>General Qualifications</b></p> <ul> <li>JD or similar educational level for candidates educated outside of the US, and 6+ years' relevant experience including 4+ years of experience working as in-house product counsel at a technology or entertainment company.</li> <li>Experience counseling product development or entertainment content creation teams working with the production, marketing, engineering, and creative teams.</li> <li>Experience working on diverse matters and comfortable finding creative and practical solutions.</li> <li>Working knowledge of intellectual property, privacy, marketing, and commercial law.</li> <li>Collaborative and able to build partnerships across diverse teams.</li> <li>Experience supporting a diverse and complex workload working on legal matters where there may be a lack of legal precedent.</li> </ul> <p><b>US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS</b></p> <p>The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.</p> <p>EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.</p> <p><b>BASE SALARY RANGES</b></p> <ul> <li>California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): $202,700 - $308,800 USD Annually</li> </ul> <ul> <li>New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo): $191,100 - $308,800 USD Annually</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Jersey City, NJ : $241,300 - $308,800 USD Annually</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs): $211,700 - $282,200 USD Annually</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): $191,100 - $281,600 USD Annually</li> </ul> <p>Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
