Klarna has over 5,000 employees and is active in 45 markets </div> <div></div> <div> <b><br> Who are you:</b> </div> <div></div> <div> <br> As a Klarna Legal Problem Solver, you will be part of a global and cross-functional team comprised of colleagues from other competences such as product, engineering, business development, design, marketing, etc. This team is assigned to a problem space and tasked with generating solutions/products. You will solve complex legal problems involving multiple jurisdictions, [consumers], [partners], and authorities. Your challenge is to merge stakeholders’ expectations and legal requirements into simple and innovative legal products, processes, or contracts. You will be the first responder for any legal and compliance-related matter on your team. You should always first ask yourself, “What’s best for the company? Couldn’t we do it in another better way instead?” Your expertise and your neverending desire to learn more will drive your professional development. You are in the driving seat! </div> </div> <div> <div> <h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What will you do?</b></h3> <ul> <ul> <li> As part of a team of dedicated lawyers for the commercial organization in North America, you will handle all legal matters arising in the commercial organizations’s day-to-day work. Your main task is to be the best problem solver in the world and drive legal innovation forward! You will be expected to merge stakeholders' expectations and legal requirements into a simple and innovative product, process or contract. We are looking for someone that has in-house experience, and loves closing deals and working closely with the commercial organization! Teamwork and a business mindset will be part of your daily routine. In essence, your job will be to:</li> <li> Be tasked with running the legal part of exciting product development projects</li> <li> Responding to requests by authorities</li> <li> Manage contacts with outside counsel to address and resolve legal issues</li> <li> Review and improve the legal aspects of existing routines and processes from a legal perspective</li> <li> Monitor and advise on relevant legal and regulatory developments and trends</li> <li> Oversee potential disputes</li> <li> Support Klarna’s growth globally by helping commercial teams and contract owners with contract negotiations in North America and globally, with Klarna’s merchants and partners.</li> <li> Advise the commercial teams on general day-to-day legal matters.</li> <li> Provide contract training and other relevant legal training to the commercial teams.</li> <li> Take part in maintaining the global standard of documentation, drafting and modifying existing standard commercial contract templates together with the global commercial legal team.</li> <li> Although located in the US, you will serve as the team’s first point-of-contact and source of truth for any legal matter arising in its problem space. To be successful in this role, you must have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in commercial contract negotiations in the US and Mexico.
