Description
Responsibilities We are seeking an associate with 3-5 years of patent litigation experience. Boston and Washington, DC are the preferred office locations. Responsibilities include: Preparation and trial of patent litigation matters Case strategy and management, including handling all aspects of discovery Working with witnesses, including experts and fact witnesses Analysis of products and patents (e.g. infringement and invalidity) Conducts and defends depositions and witness examinations Drafts pleadings and motions and court arguments Qualifications Graduated with a JD from an ABA-accredited law school Admitted to or eligible for admission in Massachusetts or Washington, DC. 3-5 years of patent litigation experience in district courts and/or before the ITC Previous experience with handling patent infringement and validity analyses Previous experience with drafting and preparing motions and briefs concerning patent issues Previous experience with handling/managing discovery aspects of litigation Some previous experience/involvement with preparing for, defending, or taking depositions is preferable Some previous experience with working with expert and fact witnesses is preferable A degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field of study is preferred, but not required Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings The expected salary range for this position is $240,000 - $310,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for an annual hours-based bonus.
