Description
Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, P.C. is a dynamic and cutting-edge boutique law firm specializing in the practice of health law. We are committed to a viable and thriving health care provider community where all people can gain access to the quality health care they need and deserve. We are seeking one or two junior or mid-level associates to join our health care litigation team, which represents some of the most sophisticated clients in the health care industry. Many of our team members work primarily from remote locations, and there is no requirement for regular in-office attendance. Candidates, however, should be licensed in California and located in or near Los Angeles, San Francisco, or San Diego. Our busy and growing practice serves the litigation needs of health care providers and suppliers, including large health systems, private and publicly traded post-acute care providers, physicians and medical groups, clinical laboratories, pharmacies, and emerging companies such as those providing digital health services across the continuum of care. In addition to offering meaningful and substantive work focused on advancing health care delivery, advocating for health policy reform, and improving patient outcomes, HLB is committed to supporting our diverse team of attorneys and professionals to develop and grow their expertise and practices by doing meaningful work that is essential to the well-being of our clients and the patients they serve. We have a proven track record of recruiting, developing and advancing lateral associate hires to the highest levels of the firm. Ideal candidates will demonstrate an ability to (i) communicate effectively with clients and provide clear, concise written legal analysis; (ii) develop a strong understanding of our clients’ business operations, objectives and strategic goals; (iii) provide creative, practical and actionable legal advice and (iv) work collaboratively with other team members, including colleagues who specialize in fraud and abuse investigations, licensing and certification and health care business transactions. Prior experience as a health care litigation attorney is not required, but candidates should have level-appropriate experience, with applicable litigation skill sets (brief writing, motion practice, discovery, e-discovery, arbitration experience, depositions, internal investigations, subpoena responses) with a demonstrated interest in health law and complex regulatory regimes and litigation. If you are committed to practicing health law, HLB is the place for you. We are the experts, the innovators and the pioneers of health law in California and beyond. We care about our people, personally and professionally and welcome you to learn more about us and what we offer. The salary range for this position is $185,000 to $330,000 annually, and actual salary is commensurate with a candidate’s qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for discretionary bonuses. Please submit cover letter, resume, transcript and writing sample to Zevit Reid, Director of Administration & Human Resources at recruiting@hooperlundy.com.
