Warner Norcross + Judd LLP has an immediate opening for a Patent Agent to join our Detroit or Grand Rapids office. Patent Agents work with supervision and guidance of partners in our IP practice group to draft and prosecute patents. Our patent team has deep bench strength with 15 full-time registered patent attorneys and patent agents. All of our patent practitioners have technical undergraduate degrees, and some additionally have postgraduate technical degrees. Many of them have prior work experience as engineers and specialists within their respective fields. Consequently, our patent team understands and appreciates the technical considerations and practicalities of patent issues. At Warner, we make it our business to understand technology: how it works, how to protect it, how to maximize its value and how to achieve strategic objectives. One to six years of experience of law firm or in house patent prosecution experience Demonstrated scientific writing ability using proper grammar and vocabulary that also includes the following skills: analyzing and explaining abstract scientific concepts and terms; synthesizing a large amount of scientific or technological literature into a systematic and concise description of the state of the art; and differentiating and describing important differences among related scientific discoveries or technological breakthroughs Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in science or engineering We appreciate your interest in exploring career opportunities with Warner.
