Steptoe LLP seeks a Patent Agent to join our Intellectual Property (“IP”) Group, preferably in our New York office. Duties include working with clients to identify inventions, assisting attorneys in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, assisting attorneys in patent searching and patent analysis, and providing technical assistance to attorneys in IP transactions. Strong academic credentials, as well as outstanding analytical, organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills are required. Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, molecular biology, or cellular biology. The anticipated base salary for this position is $145,000-$215,000. The actual base salary offered will be dependent upon the applicant’s experience and qualifications, as well as other job-related factors, including but not limited to, relevant skills, education, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, geographic location.
