THE OPPORTUNITY: As a Client Team Secretary / Paralegal you will perform a variety of duties for a dedicated client team working in a fast paced Litigation practice. You will interact with colleagues in a team setting and uphold the image of the Firm by maintaining positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff, and observing confidentiality of client matters. You will support a specific client team single plaintiff FCRA portfolio by ensuring filing deadlines are met in a timely manner and include all required filing documents. You will frequently communicate among team members, the client and local counsel throughout the US. THE DAY-TO-DAY: On any given day, you will be working with firm attorneys and colleagues on a variety of requests and projects. You will: Maintain a spreadsheet to track daily filing deadlines using Docketbird and communicate with team on the same. Manage, monitor, assign, direct and/or respond to drafting requests for extensions, removals, Pro Hac Vices to ensure that the necessary resources are channeled to produce completed projects on time. Draft various initial pleadings, including notices, motions, corporate disclosures, proposed orders that are needed in all matters for the portfolio. Perform digital file maintenance by adding in any/all filings received through Docketbird. Maintain Local Counsel Tracker database in the team’s shared Link site Create and maintain court jurisdiction folders for all 50 states to maintain the portfolio’s Documents Library templates. Interface routinely with courts, local counsel, opposing counsel, and with internal Seyfarth teams for local court specifications, docketing, mailing to Pro Se Plaintiffs, clearing conflicts, daily filings, etc. File pleadings for portfolio into District Courts around the country, while providing support for Case Assistants when they are assisting with this process. Back up Case Assistants by being cross trained on various client reports as needed when other team members are out of the office. YOU HAVE: Five to ten years of litigation secretary and/or paralegal experience Proficiency in: Microsoft Office Suite, , PACER CM/ECF, Docketbird, internet research Exceptional organizational and investigative skills; a self-starter; highly motivated; adaptable; flexible; detail-oriented worker; able to prioritize deadlines Excellent communication skills, including listening and writing Strong ability to work independently and follow-through on projects with minimal supervision Ability to work well under pressure and remain flexible to changing priorities WHAT WE PROVIDE: Seyfarth provides competitive salary and benefits at all levels, and our culture embraces the entrepreneurial spirit of its professionals like no other firm.
